A Lenten Journey Through Genesis:
A Four Week Trek Back to Our Beginnings

 Week 1:          The Creation of the World  (Click here for Class 1 Texts)

There are actually two creation stories in the first chapters in Genesis. We will explore the beautiful Hebrew poetry as well as consider the  latest developments in the Creation/Evolution debate.

 Week 2:          “East of Eden”: The Fall, The Flood and Other Complicated Things           

Adam and Eve are cast out of the Garden of Eden. And that’s just the beginning! 

Week 3:          Abraham and Sarah: The Father and Mother of our Faith  (Click here for Class 3 Texts)   

Abram (later renamed Abraham) is called to leave the land of his kin to go to an unknown land called Ur. Is that on MapQuest??

 Week 4:          The Joseph Saga: An Amazing Technicolor Journey  (Click here for Class 4 Texts)   

We will explore the story of Joseph as he moves from being favorite son to being sold into slavery by his brothers; from being a prisoner in Egypt to one of the Pharoah’s most powerful administrators. We will highlight Joseph’s dramatic reconciliation with his brothers.
